Springfield Agenda – Energy to Jobs Initiative
The Illinois Chamber Energy Council is attempting to increase investment opportunities in the state by proposing legislation that modernizes regulations at the IEPA (SB 3344) and ICC (SB3343). These changes do not alter environmental protections, but they do offer an opportunity for a more efficient permit review process so when companies are determining where to move or where to grow, they'll know the permitting process in Illinois has improved. This is a way to improve the environment for job creation with little to no affect on the state’s budget. Click for background information on SB 3343 and SB 3344.
