This is a special opportunity for you to invite friends, clients and associates to take part in our annual meeting and hear our speaker.
The Illinois Chamber has invited Minister Knight to discuss the importance of Canadian oil sands to Illinois, our nation and your business at our annual meeting on Friday, June 20 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in Chicago.
Alberta ranks second only to Saudi Arabia in proven global oil reserves. The conclusion is obvious: Canada is an important energy resource now and will be well into the future. Consistent focus on developing alternative forms of energy is important, but it is naive to assume petroleum based fuels will soon be replaced by those alternative sources.
When oil is at $120 per barrel and climbing, there is no more important issue to our day-to-day business than energy. We are excited to anticipate hearing from someone who will talk about what’s happening now, what’s coming down the road and how Illinois business will be affected by it.
The minister will also discuss and answer questions regarding environmental issues and explain how major efforts are being made to ensure oil sands development will not proceed at the expense of long-term sustainability for the environment.
Join us for our annual meeting, whether as a chamber member or representing an organization that is interested in our work. If you have an interest in promoting your company through sponsorship, a number of opportunities exist and we will be pleased to discuss those opportunities with you.
